Cake or Bed?

A friend of mine sent me this and I thought it was hysterical! For those of you who don't know, I started off as a pastry chef...

**A husband is at home watching a football game when his wife interrupts "Honey, could you fix the light in the hallway? It's been flickering for weeks now." He looks at her and says angrily, "fix the lights now?? Does it look like I have GE written on my forehead?! I DON'T THINK SO!" Fine, then the wife asks "well, then, could you fix the fridge door? It won't close right." To which he replied, "Fix the fridge door? Does it look like I have Westinghouse written on my forehead?! I DON'T THINK SO!" Fine, she says, "Then could you at least fix the steps to the front door? They are about to break. He flips out and says "I'm not a carpenter and I don't want to fix the steps! Does it look like I have Ace Hardware written on my forehead?! I DON'T THINK SO! I've had enough of you! I'm going to the bar!" So he goes to the bar and drinks for a couple of hours and starts to feel guilty about how he treated his wife. So he decides to go home. As he walks up to the house he sees the steps are already fixed. As he enters the house he sees the hall light is working and that the fridge door is fixed. So he asks his wife "How did all this get fixed?" And she says, "Well, when you left I sat outside and cried. Just then a nice young man asked me what was wrong, so I told him. He offered to do all the repairs and all I had to was either go to bed with him or bake him a cake." He said, "So what kind of cake did you bake?" She replied, "Hellllloooooooooo?! Do you see Betty Crocker written on my forehead?! I DON'T THINK SO!!"

I Hate Taxes!

I hate taxes...they freak me out! What if I forget something...put down the wrong amount, blah, blah, blah, and the frightening list goes on! I have a fabulous number crunching department, but still! And to make matters worse, it was just brought to my attention that there are a couple things missing and our taxes are supposed to get done next week! I love how everyone looks to me for the answers...you'd think that I own the company! Come on, people, sympathize with me!

Selection of the Week!

So many great places, so little time! So every now and then I'm gonna throw out there some of my favorite places to eat, movies to see, and really cool places to be! I had an amazing meal at a restaurant called La Polpa in Barcelona, Spain. For those of you headed out that way it's on Enric Granados between Carrer de Mallorca and Provenca. They have the best chicken crepes EVER! So maybe you'll be one of my lucky clients and get to experience these amazing crepes that are on my new Spanish menu that I've been working on! Let's just say I couldn't get enough!

Granada, Spain

Granada is actually located in the state of Andalucia, which is in southern Spain. Although there are wonderful sites to see (such as the Royal Chapel, the San Nicolas viewpoint, and Cathedral) the main attraction here is the Alhambra, one of the last and grandest Moorish palaces...please go see it if you get the chance. It really is an amazing place to visit! Anyhow, after a long day of touring and walking we found a wonderful new little restaurant that sits off Plaza Nueva called Topolino Restaurante. It boasts a wonderful cuisine, mostly Spanish with a few Italian choices. It´s reasonably priced (fixed menus starting at 8.80€) with good portion sizes. If you are in the area or planning a trip to this area please stop by for lunch.

It´s Been A While!

Sorry I haven´t blogged in a while, but I´ve been busy traveling and it´s not always easy finding the time to get on the computer, especially since I promised myself I would actually take some time off. But here I am! And I am ready to recommend some wonderful eateries I have come across that I´ve been dying to tell you about...so stay tuned!
